Daniel Libeskind builds on very big ideas. Here, he shares 17 words that underlie his vision for architecture -- raw, risky, emotional, radical -- and that offer inspiration for any bold creative pursuit.

I can respect that he has taken a position, but in all his talk of risky, emotional, radical architecture he never speaks of function, an aspect that is critical to creating architecture of lasting value. How will his buildings be adapted in the future? How do you respond to the context he has created?
Will his buildings be treasured or will they be considered what he says he is opposed to, "cool"?
